Deprecated Templates
Templates are deprecated since v4.0.0. You need to migrate to the WordPress FSE theme and use Template editor natively. Learn more -> https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/template-editor/.
Our implementation will still work for existing sites, but it is deprecated for future use.
Templates let you define a default set of blocks for specific post types. This ensures consistency across your content and speeds up the content creation process.
Creating Templates
- 
Navigate to WordPress Admin → Lazy Blocks → Templates

Click Add New

Configure template settings:
- Template Name
 - Add blocks
 - Select Post Types
 - Choose Template Lock option
 

 
Template Lock Options
- None - Users can freely modify blocks
 - Prevent all operations - Users cannot add, delete, or move blocks
 - Prevent inserting new blocks - Users can move existing blocks but cannot add new ones
 
Working with Templates
When you create a new post of the selected type, it automatically includes the template blocks:

Adding Flexible Content Areas
Use the Free Content block to create editable areas within locked templates:

Common template uses:
- Standard page layouts
 - Product descriptions
 - Team member profiles
 - Case study format
 
Template locks help maintain consistency while still allowing necessary content flexibility.
